How the Visual Quiz Works

Three ways to test yourself — choose the mode that matches your current skill level.

· −   − ·   ·

Decode Mode

An animated dot and dash pattern appears on screen, lighting up left to right. Identify the letter, number, or symbol it represents. Hit Replay as many times as you need. Use the Hint for a reference chart peek.

· · ·   · −   − − −

Encode Mode

A large letter appears on screen. Choose the correct Morse pattern from four visual options — all shown as dots and dashes so you build genuine pattern memory, not text-matching instinct.

· · · ·   ·   ·−·· ·−··

Speed Mode

The pattern plays once at 10 WPM and disappears. You have 8 seconds to answer. No replay, no hints. Unlocks at Advanced difficulty. Score bonus XP for answering in under 3 seconds.

· −   − −   ·−·

Weak Spot Tracking

Every miss is logged in your browser. Characters you struggle with appear twice as often in future sessions. Your results screen shows your top 5 weak spots with their Morse patterns.

· · · − − − · · ·

Difficulty Levels

Beginner starts with just 8 letters (E T I A N M S O — the most frequent in English). Score 80%+ to unlock Intermediate (all 26 letters), then Advanced (+ all digits and 8 punctuation marks).
